Greetings Dear Followers,
Today we will discuss the benefic (Karak) and malefic (Akarak) planets for Sagittarius and Capricorn ascendants.
1. Sagittarius Ascendant:
In a Sagittarius ascendant chart, Jupiter (Dev Guru) is a strong benefic because it is the lord of the Lagna (1st house) and the 4th house.
The second benefic planet is the Sun, as it is the lord of the 9th house (Bhagyesh).
The third benefic is Mars, which is the lord of the 5th house. Although Mars also owns the 12th house in this chart, since one of its signs falls in a Trikona (trine), it is considered benefic.
Malefic planets for Sagittarius Ascendant –
Venus, Saturn and Mercury are malefic in this chart.
– Venus: Malefic due to being the lord of the 6th and 11th houses and being a natural enemy of Jupiter.
– Saturn: Malefic due to being the lord of the 2nd and 3rd houses and being a natural enemy of Jupiter.
– Mercury: Being the lord of the 7th and 4th houses. Since this is a dual-natured ascendant, Mercury becomes both Marak (killer) and Badhak (obstructive) here.
– Moon: Although it is the lord of the 8th house, it does not get the dosha of being the 8th lord.
2. Capricorn Ascendant:
In a Capricorn ascendant chart, Saturn is benefic as it is the Lagnesh.
The second Yogakaraka planet in this chart is Venus, which becomes a complete Yogakaraka because it owns both a Kendra (4th) and a Trikona (9th). Mercury is benefic as it is the lord of the 5th house.
Malefic planets for Capricorn Ascendant –
– Jupiter: Strongly malefic as it is the lord of the 3rd and 12th houses.
– Sun: It is the lord of the 8th house, but it does not get the dosha of being the 8th lord.
– Mars: Being the lord of the 4th and 11th houses, it is neutral. Hence, if under malefic influence, it will give Marak results.
We will discuss the Karak and Marak planets for Aquarius and Pisces ascendants in the next post.
