Bhopal Bureau
Summary: An important date has arrived today in the ongoing recruitment for 1,000 Constable Driver posts in the Madhya Pradesh Police. As per the schedule issued by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board, today, 3 November 2026, is the last day to correct application forms that have already been submitted. New applications closed on 29 October, so this correction window is only for candidates who have already filed their forms. The written examination is set to begin on 4 January 2027.
Today is the last day for form correction — understand it correctly
The most important thing about this recruitment is not to mistake today’s date for the last date of fresh applications. The online application process began on 15 October 2026, and the last date for submitting new applications was 29 October 2026. No new applications are being accepted after that.
The window closing today, 3 November 2026, is the form-correction window for forms already submitted. That means if any candidate’s form carries an error in name, date of birth, educational details, photograph, signature or any other detail, it can be corrected today. This correction facility had been open since 15 October, and after it closes today, there will be no further chance to change the form.
To correct a form, candidates must log in to the Employees Selection Board’s official website using their application number, date of birth and profile password. After making the correction, the form must be checked again, submitted, and a printout kept safely so that there is no problem in the later stages of the process.
How many posts, in which force — the full break-up of 1,000 posts
Through this recruitment, a total of 1,000 Constable Driver posts will be filled in the Madhya Pradesh Police. These posts are divided into two parts. As many as 200 posts have been kept for the Special Armed Force, while 800 posts have been fixed for the District Police Force and other units.
Of the 200 Special Armed Force posts, 150 are for the unreserved category, 20 for ex-servicemen and 30 for home guards. Of the 800 District Police Force posts, 600 will go to the unreserved category, 80 to ex-servicemen and 120 to home guards. This recruitment is only for male candidates, so only male applicants can take part in it.
This break-up matters because a candidate needs to understand which category he falls in and how many seats are available for it. With separate reserved seats for ex-servicemen and home guards, candidates from these categories also get a clear opportunity.

Who can be eligible — education and licence conditions
No big degree is needed to become a Constable Driver. For General, Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Class candidates, passing Class 10 from a recognised board is necessary. Scheduled Tribe candidates have been given further relaxation — they can take part even after passing Class 8.
Along with education, there is one condition that is the heart of this recruitment — the candidate must hold a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle driving licence. Without a valid heavy licence, an application will be of no use, because a practical driving test will also have to be taken later. Only candidates who hold a valid heavy licence will be able to move ahead in this race.
Age will be counted taking 29 October 2026 as the base. The minimum age of a candidate must be 18 years. For General and Economically Weaker Section candidates of Madhya Pradesh and candidates from other states, the maximum age has been kept at 33 years. Madhya Pradesh domicile Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class candidates, government employees and home guard personnel have been given age relaxation — they can apply up to the age of 38. Reserved-category players who have won the Vikram Award will get relaxation up to 43 years. Youngsters from other states can also try their luck in this recruitment, but they will get a chance only on unreserved seats and will not get the benefit of any reservation.
Exam pattern — from 4 January 2027, in two shifts
As per the notification issued by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board, the written examination will be held from 4 January 2027. This examination will be held in two shifts. The first shift will run from 10 in the morning to 12 noon, and the second shift from 3 in the afternoon to 5 in the evening.
The written examination will carry 100 questions for 100 marks. One mark will be given for every correct answer. The relief is that there will be no negative marking for wrong answers in this examination, which means marks will not be deducted for a wrong answer. As per the rulebook, the written examination is expected to carry questions linked to general knowledge, reasoning, science and simple arithmetic.
The exam date and shift details are being shared in advance so that candidates can plan their preparation accordingly. Information about exam centres and admit cards will also be released later on the Board’s official website, so candidates are advised to keep checking the official portal from time to time.
After the written exam — physical test, documents and driving test
To get the job, candidates will mainly have to cross two stages. The first stage will be the online written examination. Candidates who pass it will be called for the second stage, where their physical test, document verification and, most importantly, the driving trade test will be taken.
The physical test will include checking physical fitness, including a run. In document verification, papers such as the candidate’s educational qualification, age, caste certificate and driving licence will be checked. After that comes the driving trade test, which can be considered the most decisive stage of this recruitment, because in it the candidate will have to prove practical driving ability. This test is qualifying in nature — passing it will remain compulsory.
It is clear from this whole process that merely passing the written examination is not enough. A candidate will also have to be physically fit and skilled at driving. That is why preparation should not be limited to books alone — attention must also be paid to driving practice.
Pay scale and fees — what you will get, what it costs
After selection, candidates will get a pay scale ranging from Rs 19,500 to Rs 62,000. This pay scale becomes even more attractive with the allowances and facilities that come with a government job. Getting appointed as a driver in the Police Department will not only bring a permanent job, but also the responsibility of the uniform and respect in society.
The application fee is being taken in two parts. Unreserved-category candidates will have to pay Rs 500 as the Employees Selection Board examination fee and Rs 200 as the Police Department examination fee. For Madhya Pradesh Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class and Economically Weaker Section candidates, this fee has been kept at Rs 250 and Rs 100 respectively. Apart from this, a portal charge of Rs 60 will apply separately for forms filled through an MP Online kiosk, and Rs 20 for forms filled through a registered citizen user.
How to correct the form — step by step
Candidates whose forms carry any error can correct them today through these steps. First, visit the official website of the Employees Selection Board. Then open the link related to the online form and log in with your application number, date of birth and profile password.
After logging in, look carefully at the information entered in the form. Correct whichever information carries an error. If the error relates to the photograph or signature, upload the correct scanned copy. After that, read the entire form once again, check it, and then submit it. After submitting, take a printout of the form and keep it safely, because it may be needed in the later process.
Take special care that the correction window is closing today, so do not wait for the last hours. In the last hours, increased traffic on the website may cause difficulty in logging in or submitting. That is why the correction work should be completed as early as possible.
What next — a roadmap for preparation till the exam
After form correction, the biggest task before candidates now is preparing for the examination. The written examination will begin on 4 January 2027, which means there are about two months for preparation. During this period, focusing on general knowledge, reasoning, science and simple arithmetic will prove beneficial. At the same time, driving practice should also be continued, because passing the driving test after the written examination is also necessary.
Candidates are also advised to keep an eye on the official website of the Employees Selection Board for updates linked to the exam schedule and admit cards. Information about any change in exam dates or arrangements is first released on the official portal itself. Avoid trusting any rumour or unofficial information, and treat only official information as final.
