New Delhi Bureau. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday marked the completion of 25 continuous years as the head of a government, telling thousands of workers gathered at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium that the milestone belongs not to him, but to the nation.
Addressing the ‘Seva Jyoti’ programme organised by the Delhi BJP, the Prime Minister said he had never once felt alone in his journey of governance — crediting grassroots workers and swayamsevaks for standing behind him through every phase.
‘We are sevaks, servants of humanity’
“I have never felt that I am alone,” Modi said. “There are countless swayamsevaks who are guardians of India’s cultural soul, with one sole purpose: to serve Bharat. They live by this spirit and remind themselves every moment: ‘We are sevaks. We are servants of humanity.'”
“I respectfully salute every swayamsevak and karyakarta who continues to serve the nation with commitment and devotion,” he added.
‘This asset belongs to the nation’
The Prime Minister described his quarter-century in public life as a collective national treasure rather than a personal achievement. “The nation has given me a great deal. Therefore, my responsibility towards the nation is the greatest as well,” he said.
“This 25 years of public trust, this 25 years of experience is a tremendous asset. And this asset does not belong to Modi alone; this asset belongs to the nation. Every child of Mother India is entitled to this asset,” he said.

Gratitude — from Bhuj to Chandrayaan
Looking back, Modi said only gratitude emerged. “I am grateful to every person and every incident that has taught me something or the other,” he said, adding that victory taught him humility while defeat taught him to rise again — and that critics taught him to look within.
Citing defining moments, he said the 2001 Bhuj earthquake “taught me to remain steadfast in reconstruction”, Chandrayaan “taught me to rise from failure”, and the Covid-19 pandemic “made me realize the importance of the nation’s collective consciousness”. He also acknowledged the media’s role, saying it had inspired him to move forward through “bitter-sweet experiences”.
‘We will do it’ — the Viksit Bharat resolve
The address closed with a renewed pledge for a developed India by 2047. “This day is about reiterating that promise,” Modi said, “the resolve which says, ‘We will definitely achieve it.’ We will achieve it; we will do it, we will do it, we will do it.”
The programme drew around 5,000 workers and supporters, along with senior party leaders, marking the culmination of the BJP’s month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Celebrations continue through the week — with torch processions across Delhi and the closing ceremony of the Seva Sankalp Yatra in Varanasi and Vadnagar.
