New Delhi Bureau. Samsung’s latest flagship tablets have officially gone on sale in India. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12+ are available for purchase starting today, October 7, through Samsung Exclusive Stores, partner retail outlets, Samsung.com and major online platforms. The series was unveiled globally on September 30, and India pricing was announced on October 1.

Price and variants

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at Rs 1,49,999 for the Wi-Fi model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, going up to Rs 1,84,999 for the 5G variant with 512GB storage. The Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at Rs 1,29,999 for the Wi-Fi 12GB/256GB model, while its top 5G configuration with 512GB storage is priced at Rs 1,64,999. Both tablets ship in Gray and Silver colour options.

Launch offers include up to Rs 5,000 bank cashback, up to Rs 5,000 upgrade bonus, and no-cost EMI for up to 24 months. Samsung is also extending its Galaxy Forever programme to tablets in India for the first time. The Pro Keyboard Cover is priced at Rs 26,499 for the Plus and Rs 27,999 for the Ultra.

Design and display

The Ultra carries a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display while the Plus has a 12.6-inch panel, both with 120Hz adaptive refresh rates and peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits. Samsung says the Ultra, at 5.1mm, is the thinnest Galaxy Tab it has ever built; the Plus measures 5.3mm. Both models are IP68-rated for dust and water resistance — still rare territory for a tablet.

Performance, software and AI

Both tablets run on MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9500 chipset. Samsung claims 19 percent faster CPU performance, 17 percent improved graphics and 61 percent faster NPU processing compared with the previous generation. They ship with Android 17-based One UI 9 and Samsung promises up to seven generations of OS and security updates.

Galaxy AI features such as Note Assist and Multi Window — which can split the screen into three sections — headline the software story. A redesigned hexagonal S Pen ships in the box. In a first for Android tablets, Adobe Photoshop comes pre-installed, with four months of the Photoshop mobile plan bundled free, alongside a six-month Google AI Pro trial that includes Gemini.

Battery and the rest

The Ultra packs an 11,600mAh battery rated for up to 23 hours of use, while the Plus has a 10,600mAh cell good for up to 21 hours. Both support 45W fast charging, taking the tablets from empty to full in about 95 minutes, according to Samsung. Other highlights include four-speaker spatial audio, microSD expansion up to 2TB and a 13MP main camera, with the Ultra adding an 8MP ultrawide and a 12MP front camera.

Who is it for

With large AMOLED displays, the S Pen, desktop-class multitasking and a heavy AI push, the S12 series is clearly aimed at creators, students and professionals who want laptop-grade productivity in a tablet form factor — at a price that sits firmly in premium territory.
