Bhopal Bureau
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will on Saturday inaugurate the fourth national HR-CSR conference ‘Abhyudaya-2026’ in Bhopal. The inaugural session at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre begins at 10 in the morning, where the Chief Minister will address the participants and also interact with them. The conference will deliberate on strengthening cooperation between the government, industry and social organisations in areas such as environmental protection, governance, employment, education and health. Corporate representatives, academics, senior administrative officers and social-sector experts from across the country are expected to take part.
The theme: integrating holistic welfare
This year’s theme is ‘Integrating Environmental, Social Responsibility, Governance and Civilisational Knowledge for Holistic Welfare’. According to the organisers, the theme will anchor discussions on deepening collaboration between industry, government, universities and social institutions, and on developing practical initiatives in areas of public interest. The conference’s core objective is to connect corporate social responsibility (CSR) and human resource (HR) efforts with real social needs, so that institutions working together can build useful and sustainable models.
Five key themes: from skilling to environment
The deliberations will explore partnership possibilities across skill development, employment, education, health and environmental protection. Experts believe the goal of holistic development can only be achieved through the combined participation of government, industry and social institutions in all five areas. The conference provides a shared platform for HR professionals and CSR practitioners to exchange experience — a space where policy, practice and ground-level insight come together.
Distinguished guests: Padma Shri scholars from India and abroad
Several eminent guests are expected at the event. These include Padma Shri Dr. Agus Indra Udayana from Indonesia, S-VYASA Chancellor Padma Shri Dr. H. R. Nagendra, Shri Krishna Pathya Trust representative Shriram Tiwari, and conference convener Dr. Vikrant Singh Tomar. The presence of Padma Shri-honoured scholars will lend particular strength to the knowledge dimension of the conference, as several of them are known for bridging ancient Indian knowledge traditions with modern management science.
The organisers: culture department trust and global peace foundation
The event is being jointly organised by the Culture Department’s Shri Krishna Pathya Trust and the United Global Peace Foundation. Dr. Vikrant Singh Tomar’s United Council for Ancient Wisdom–United Consciousness is also collaborating in the event. Notably, this is the fourth edition of the conference — meaning the platform has, over the past three years, carved out a national-level identity in the HR and CSR space. The organisers say this year’s edition will be the largest so far.
The national context: why this platform matters
Under India’s Companies Act, 2013, companies meeting specified criteria must spend two per cent of their average net profits on corporate social responsibility. Over the past decade, this provision has channelled thousands of crores of rupees into education, health, sanitation and rural development. Human resource management is also transforming rapidly — skilling, employee welfare and workplace culture are today at the centre of any organisation’s success. National conferences like Abhyudaya work to connect these two streams, so that industry money and management expertise create maximum value for society.
Bridging civilisational wisdom and modern management
A distinctive feature of the conference is its civilisational dimension. Scholars such as S-VYASA Chancellor Padma Shri Dr. H. R. Nagendra enjoy international renown in yoga and holistic health, while Indonesia’s Padma Shri Dr. Agus Indra Udayana is active in cultural diplomacy and peace education. According to the organisers, the principles of holism, service and balance embedded in India’s knowledge traditions can deepen modern HR and CSR practices. That is why, alongside academic sessions, the conference also makes room for cultural and contemplative dimensions.
Bhopal: emerging as a conference destination
The Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre is once again hosting a national-level event. Regular hosting of such major conferences is cementing Bhopal’s position on the national conference-tourism map. The Chief Minister’s personal presence at the inaugural session signals that the state government is prioritising the human-resource development and social-responsibility agenda. The concluding session is expected to yield concrete recommendations, on which the state government may build its further action plan. Experts believe that if the models emerging from the conference are taken to the ground, Madhya Pradesh could gain new direction in skilling and employment.
