Madanapalle (Andhra Pradesh). Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani on Friday described himself as a “pashu sevak” — one who serves animals — declaring that “pashu seva bhi prabhu seva hai” (serving animals is serving God). The remark has since gone viral on social media.
Addressing the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the ₹1 lakh-crore Global Horticulture Hub and the Indian School of Agriculture (ISA) at Madanapalle, Ambani said he believed in technology-driven animal husbandry and considered the service of voiceless animals his duty.
Reference to Vantara
Ambani made special mention of Vantara in Jamnagar — the animal welfare and conservation initiative associated with the Reliance Foundation. He said work had begun there toward what he described as a global university for wildlife and veterinary sciences.
A tech-driven vision for farmers
In his address, Ambani also laid out a technology-led vision for farmers. He said AI, drones, robotics and cloud computing could transform agriculture — from early warnings of pest attacks and crop-health monitoring to better water management.
Referring to the Jio Krishi platform, he said Reliance Jio would work with the Indian School of Agriculture to take training modules to farmers in their own languages through interactive virtual classrooms in villages.
Ambani has long been associated with animal welfare causes, and the Vantara initiative has been linked to the rescue and rehabilitation of thousands of animals.
