Summary: In line with the intent of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to promote Swadeshi products and to give women self-help groups a better market, a special stall of Diwali decorative items made by women associated with the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission has been set up at the Indore Collector office, where Collector Shivam Verma encouraged the women by buying products himself and appealed to citizens to adopt Swadeshi products.

With the objective of encouraging Swadeshi products in line with the intent of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, and of providing a better market to women self-help groups, a special stall of attractive Diwali decorative items made by women associated with the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission has been set up at the Indore Collector office. Collector Shivam Verma visited the stall today and encouraged the women by buying products himself.

Collector visits the stall and buys products himself

Collector Shivam Verma reached the special stall at the Collector office and inspected the products on display. He spoke to the women about their products, how they are made, and how sales are going. He then bought products himself, encouraging the women. His gesture brought cheer to the women at the stall and sent the message that the administration stands with their efforts.

On the occasion, Collector Shivam Verma said that, as per the directions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, women associated with the Livelihood Mission are being provided a better platform and market for selling their products, so that they can grow their businesses and become economically self-reliant. He said that such stalls give women an opportunity to reach customers directly and help their hard work fetch its due value.

What is special at the stall

For Diwali, the women of the self-help groups have prepared attractive artefacts, clay diyas, decorative items and eco-friendly products made from cow dung. The special stall at the Collector office has been set up to take these products to ordinary citizens.

Clay diyas and decorative items are part of the traditional charm of Diwali, while the eco-friendly products made from cow dung show that festive cheer can go together with protecting the environment. The handcrafted artefacts by the women also reflect local craftsmanship and tradition. A stall at a public place like the Collector office gives these products access to a large number of citizens and employees.

Gramin Haat Bazaar fair receives a good response

Collector Shivam Verma said that a special fair was also organised at the Gramin Haat Bazaar located at Dhakkan Wala Kuan for the display and sale of products made by the women of the Livelihood Mission. The fair received a good response from citizens, and products worth a total of Rs 2.5 lakh were sold at the fair.

This figure indicates that citizens are adopting products made by local women and that interest in Swadeshi products is growing. The Gramin Haat Bazaar fair not only gives women a big platform but also strengthens the possibility of a lasting market for their products.

Sales of over Rs 40,000 at today’s stall by afternoon

The stall at the Collector office has also made an encouraging start. Collector Shivam Verma said that products worth more than Rs 40,000 had already been sold through the stall at the Collector office by the afternoon today. Sales are likely to rise further in the days ahead, as demand for decorative items and diyas increases with Diwali approaching.

Appeal to citizens to adopt Swadeshi products

Collector Shivam Verma appealed to citizens to give priority to Swadeshi and eco-friendly products made by local women self-help groups during the Diwali festival. He said that when citizens buy local products, the benefit reaches directly to the women and their families who prepare these products with their hard work.

This appeal is also connected with the basic spirit of the Swadeshi campaign, which emphasises strengthening local production, local employment and the local economy. If citizens give priority to Swadeshi products during a major festival like Diwali, it can bring real improvement in the economic condition of women self-help groups.

A step towards self-reliance for women

For women associated with the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, stalls and fairs like these are not merely a medium of sales but a concrete step towards self-reliance. Selling their products directly gives women an understanding of the market, builds direct contact with customers, and gives them the confidence to grow their businesses.

The special stall at the Collector office is being seen as a meaningful initiative to honour the hard work of women on the occasion of Diwali and to promote Swadeshi products. With the encouraging response from citizens, there is also hope that more such platforms will be made available to women in the coming days.
