Indore. The Ashok Singhal birth centenary year programme announced by the Vishva Hindu Parishad will be organised over the entire year at various levels across Malwa, and in India and abroad. As part of the provincial inauguration ceremonies being held in different states and prants of the country, a grand inaugural programme was held at Indore’s Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium.
Inauguration held in the dignified presence of the saint fraternity
At this dignified ceremony in Indore, a galaxy of saints — Swami Gyananand Teerth Ji Maharaj, Vishva Hindu Parishad national president Alok Kumar Ji, Umesh Nath Ji, Bapu Ji Maharaj, Kamal Singh Ji Maharaj, Radhe-Radhe Baba, among others — inaugurated the programme. In his address, Alok Ji spoke about the attack on Ashok Ji.
Ram temple’s foundation laid by Kameshwar Chaupal at Ashok Ji’s suggestion
At Ashok Ji’s suggestion, the foundation stone of the Ram temple was laid by Kameshwar Chaupal. Ashok Ji was supremely confident — he had construction material brought in and completed preparations for the temple. The nation and dharma are intertwined; our deities and Bharat Mata are one. It was Ashok Ji’s own initiative that had Bajrang Dal workers trained to stop cow slaughter. Ashok Ji had said: “I have gone now, but I shall take birth again and return.”
Samarasta conferences, yatras and exhibitions to run through the year
During the Ashok Singhal birth centenary year, social harmony (samarasta) conferences, samarasta yajnas, samarasta yatras, public awareness campaigns, seminars and exhibitions will be organised throughout the year at the block and district levels. Prant minister Vinod Sharma and prant publicity chief Ganni Chaukse said that on this occasion, kshetra organisation secretary Rajaram, prant organisation secretary Khagendra Bhargava, Mukesh Jain, Vinod Sharma, Mala Thakur, Sanjay Holkar and Mahesh Anjana, along with the saint fraternity, the city’s prominent social workers, heads of castes and communities, kar sevaks, poets, writers, intellectuals, sportspersons, professors and leading workers from 29 districts of the Malwa prant participated.

A large number of former office-bearers of the Vishva Hindu Parishad also attended, along with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the BJP and all like-minded organisations. The programme concluded with the singing of the complete Vande Mataram.
